BLACKPINK has indeed taken the spotlight with their new release and new records are the proof.
The girl group has just made their comeback with their first mini album 'SQUARE UP.' Since the release, BLACKPINK has managed to write new records, beating the other K-pop acts. Here, we have compiled the girls' record with 'Ddu-Du Ddu-Du,' the title track of the album.
1. Youtube's records here and there
Yes, the girls have indeed dominated Youtube with their latest title track. The MV is now the fastest MV of a girl group to reach 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 million views on the platform. BLACKPINK is the second after BTS, who holds the fastest milestone-reach records with 'Fake Love.' Not only that, BLACKPINK's 'Ddu-Du Ddu-Du' is also the MV with most views on Youtube in 24 hours since release (for girl groups).
2. #1 on iTunes
Their new album has hit #1 on iTunes in 44 different countries, including Canada, Japan, Vietnam, Greece, and more. This marks a new record for K-pop girl groups. Along with the album, title track 'Ddu-Du Ddu-Du' also topped the song chart in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and more.
3. Top 50 on Spotify
BLACKPINK has now become the first ever K-pop girl group to enter Top 50 on Spotify. The girls debuted on #44 on the chart.
4. Most unique listeners on MelOn for a girl group
The record was previously held by MAMAMOO, with their hit song, 'Yes I am.' However, 'Ddu-Du Ddu-Du' has now broken the achievement. BLACKPINK has 83,047 unique listeners for the first hour since release and 1,015,669 unique listeners in the first 24 hours.
Congratulations to BLACKPINK and BLINKs! Why don't you watch again the MV above, ladies and gentlemen?
